Review: "This Totally Bites" by Ruth Ames

12 year old Emma-Rose Paley has always felt different from her parents.  Unlike them, Emma-Rose has pale skin and jet black hair.  She prefers gray weather to sunshine.  She doesn't like the taste of garlic.  When her great Aunt Margo comes to visit from Romania, Emma uncovers a dark family secret.  Could Emma be a real live vampire?  This is a very good book.  If you like personal narratives this is the book for you.  This is the 2nd book in the poison apple series.

Review: "At First Bite" by Ruth Ames

Ever since Ashley Lambert became a full fledged vampire, things haven’t been easy for her. After moving from New York city to sunny Los Angeles, she’s exited to make a fresh new start. But Ashley never counted on clique mean girls or awful sunburns. Keeping her huge secret is now harder then ever. And when someone or something starts attacking people at her school…, Ashley soon realizes she’s not the only vampire in town. It’s up to Ashley to figure out who or what behind all of the attacks before her cover is blown, FOREVER! This is a really good book. This book has many serious and dramatic parts. This book is good for children ages 8-16. At the end of every page the author had me hanging on to the edge of my seat.
